Michelle Pleasant, Development Coordinator

My name is Michelle Pleasant, and I am the Development Coordinator here at Happy Hollow. My passion for working with kids in my personal and professional life motivated me to join the good work done at Happy Hollow.

I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, but fell in love with Indianapolis after moving here in 2016. I currently live in on the east side of Indy in Irvington with my husband, daughter, and twin sons. Over the last few years, I have dedicated a lot of my time to volunteering and advocacy within my community. I am passionate about supporting my children's school and advocating for pedestrian and cyclist safety in our city. I am currently working to grow our neighborhood-wide Safe Routes to School program in Irvington, and previously co-chaired the Hannah’s Memorial Playground project.

I am a graduate of the University of Cincinnati, where I studied special education. As a teacher, I taught students ranging from kindergarten through high school before transitioning to work as an employment specialist for adults with disabilities. My background in education has fueled my passion for supporting our youngest community members. I am excited to continue that passion with my work at Happy Hollow Children’s Camp.
